Triggers for these things can often be when things that are about to happen, or which we think could happen in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">It is important to note that anxiety is a very natural human response, when we feel that we are under threat (fight or flight response \u2013 further information can be found here:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytools.com\/resource\/fight-or-flight-response\/\">https:\/\/www.psychologytools.com\/resource\/fight-or-flight-response\/<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Anxiety can be experienced through our thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Mind has provided examples of the physical effects of anxiety may feel like:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">a churning feeling in your stomach<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">feeling light-headed or dizzy<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">pins and needles<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">feeling restless or unable to sit still<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">headaches, backache or other aches and pains<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">faster breathing<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">a fast, thumping or irregular heartbeat<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">sweating or hot flushes<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">Sleeping issues<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">grinding your teeth, especially at night<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">nausea (feeling sick)<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">needing the toilet more or less often<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">changes in your sex drive<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">experiencing panic attacks<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Most people feel anxious at some point\/s in their lives. We are particularly likely to experience some anxiety, if we are dealing with stressful events or large changes in our personal lives. Even more so if these events are likely to have a large impact on your life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Whirls anxiety is a very natural Hunan reaction, it can become a mental health problem if it impacts your ability to live your life as fully as you would like to. For example, holding down your job, impacting your personal relationships, looking after yourself and trying new things\/ new environments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Other examples of anxiety negatively impacting your life could include :<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">anxious feelings lasting a long time or not going away<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">personal fears and concerns are more exaggerated than they may necessarily be required for various situations<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">you avoid situations\/ environments that may trigger anxious feelings<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s3\">you have experienced a panic attack\/s<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">It is important to seek medial advice if your symptoms persist or worsen, as certain medical criteria may lead to a diagnosis of an anxiety disorder, where help and support can be provided.
